Fotomoto is an e-commerce system specifically designed for photos. If you are a photographer or you operate a website with a big photo inventory, Fotomoto helps you monetize your photos and sell them in a professional way -- on your own website. You will sell without any hassle. Fotomoto takes care of everything: processing orders right on your website, processing payments, making print (or other products based on your photo), and shipping it to the customers on your behalf. Our goal is to let photographers and content owners focus on their photography without worrying about the hassles of selling.

Photographers, organizations with a lot of photos, aggregators of photo content, photography blogs and magazines, museums, galleries, non-profit organizations, journalistic blogs, and any person or entity who has spent time and energy building a website and presenting photos can use Fotomoto to monetize their photos.

Fotomoto has three major parts:

• Toolbar: By adding one line of code to your site template you add the Fotomoto toolbar to your site. The toolbar is then automatically added to every photo you want to sell on your site. This toolbar analyzes your web pages, adds itself to each photo in the page, and enables viewers to buy the photo and pay for it right on your site, or send the photo as an eCard for free. Think of an advanced shopping cart that understands photos. It does everything automatically, you don't have to do anything!
  
  You can see our Toolbar on any of our customer sites such as www.topleftpixel.com. It appears below every photo.
• Widget:This is the nice looking window that opens when your visitors click on the links (such as Buy Print or Send as eCard) within the toolbar. It shows a preview of the size of the photo, or in the case of postcards a preview of how the postcard will look like, and provides the visitor with a shopping cart which for buying your photos. Visitors can select multiple photos from different pages of your site, select their desired shipping method, and pay -- all happening right on your website.
  
  You can see the widget by clicking on the "Buy Print" (or similar) link on any of our customer sites such as www.topleftpixel.com.
• Control Panel: Using our control panel, you set the pricing and availability of the photos, manage your limited editions, see analytics data about your photos (such as how many times a photo has been viewed, or sent as an eCard), view and manage your orders, and more.

Once you add Fotomoto to your site your site, viewers can click on the toolbar, use the widget, and place orders. We process the order on your behalf, and we print the photo, package it professionally, and ship it to your customer. All prints up to 30"x40" are shipped in flat packaging which is our preferred way of handling artistic photos. Aside from providing the high-resolution version of the photo there is nothing else that you need to do!

There is no subscription fee for using Fotomoto. This means that adding Fotomoto to your site is free!
What you pay is the cost of the print plus a 15% transaction fee which includes both credit card processing fees and our operatinal costs. There is absolutely no hidden cost or other fees. You can always review your balance via the Control Panel. Your balance is the sum of order amounts minus our 15% transaction fee and print costs.

Absolutely! We support a number of major currencies. Any photographer or organization that owns or aggregates photo content, regardless of where they reside, can use Fotomoto. We already have photographers using our service from more than 50 different countries, and we are very proud of being able to serve an international community. You can price and sell your photos in USD, CAD, EUR, GBP, AUD, and a few other currencies.

You can offer prints in various sizes and paper types, greeting cards, postcards and flat cards, as well as free eCards. Calendars are next, and we will soon enable you to sell digital downloads (i.e., license or right to use). We will also add various types of merchandise such as mugs and T-shirts, for anybody who wants to seel them (designers and illustrators are anxious to see this happening!). You have full control over which of these products you do or don't want to offer using your photos. It's your site.

Yes. We ship products internationally. This means that customers from all across the world will be able to place orders on your websites, and and receive professionally packed, high-quality printed products. One of the earliest dreams we had when we started Fotomoto was to enable a person living in France to buy a photo print from a photographer who lives in Ghana, using our technology here in the US. We are glad we have made that a reality.

You do. You have full control and freedom over setting your own prices.

You will retain ownership of Your Content. You also retain ownership of any original digital file that you upload to the Service for the purpose of making Products.

The Company will make Products based on Your Content only for orders placed via Your Site or placed by yourself via the Service Control Panel (Collectively "Your Orders"). In order to make Products, you hereby grant to the Company a royalty free, worldwide, transferable, non-exclusive right and license to use Your Content to fulfill Your Orders. The rights are transferable as the Company may sublicense such rights to its fulfillment partners in order to make Products. This right is granted only for the purpose of fulfilling Your Orders, and does not apply to any other production. The company will not reproduce or resell Your Content.

The Service will have the right to use screen resolution image and thumbnails of Your Content for display purposes including but not limited to eCards, orders, search results, and any promotion of Your Content by the Service. The screen resolution image will be accompanied by your credits as you define in the Service Control Panel.

You can set the currency of your site to US Dollar, Canadian Dollar, Euro, British Pound, Australian Dollar, or Japanese Yen.

Any website can use Fotomoto as long as photos are not embedded in Flash. Fotomoto does not currently work with Flash-embedded photos. Any HTML website or photoblogging software that you may be using (Wordpress, MovableType, PixelPost, custom made, etc) will work seamlessly with Fotomoto. Even if you are using Flash for a splash front page but your photos are on separate HTML pages you can still use Fotomoto.

We are sure you will love Fotomoto! But if for any reason you decide not to use it anymore, you can simply remove the fotomoto script line from your HTML template.
